WHAT IS AGS?

A lot: AGS members must adhere to the American Gem Society?s code of ethics and are required to re-certify their title or designation each year. The American Gem Society (AGS) is a non-profit trade association of jewelers, appraisers, and suppliers, founded in 1934 with the goal to protect the consumer.
Each member has to go through a vigorous education program to earn the coveted title of Registered Jeweler and Certified Gemologist.
